An archaeological sensation has been discovered in the Danube plain near Riedlingen: a completely preserved burial chamber made of solid oak wood that is around 2600 years old. The burial chamber lies in the centre of a mighty princely burial mound.
This burial mound, with a diameter of 65 metres and an original height of over six metres, is one of the largest early Celtic sites in south-west Germany and offers scientists valuable insights into the culture and craftsmanship of the Celts. BauWatch protects the excavation site with video surveillance.
Security challenge: a unique find in a remote location.
In order to protect the burial chamber during the excavation break and to prevent unauthorised access to the site, a solution had to be found that would also work reliably at this remote location. As there were no power connections and the excavation site is difficult to access, our self-sufficient security solutions were chosen.
