Basically not. When the security solution is placed, public areas are blacked out in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR.

Data protection-compliant video surveillance is possible in compliance with the requirements of the GDPR. We will be happy to advise you on this on a case-by-case basis.

The recordings are stored for a period of 72 hours.

Facial recognition is generally prohibited and licence plate recognition is a violation of the right to informal self-determination. Accordingly, the aforementioned data is not recorded or stored.

Permanent monitoring of the protection target is not possible and is not planned. An assessment of individual alarm sequences takes place.

Only a small, select group of people, consisting of the client and our specialist staff, have access to the data. Explicit care is taken here to ensure that only those employees who need it for their work have access.

The mobile video towers use intelligent video software to monitor your premises at the times you want to be protected. The cameras detect people and cars and transmit the corresponding reports to our 24-hour security centre, which is manned by our security specialists. The images are viewed and verified there and further immediate measures are initiated as required.

Our technical solutions and services are absolutely sophisticated and well thought out based on our experience as Europe's No. 1. We ensure that the functional chain of surveillance remains in our hands from start to finish: The video recordings are professionally checked in our in-house alarm centre, which is manned 24/7, to avoid false alarms before any further action is taken.

We come to you, advise you and create a customised risk analysis. Based on this information, we make our recommendation and you decide how many towers you would like to have installed.

We offer you various technical solutions that use our modern camera technology to monitor a wide range of areas. Depending on the BauWatch system, we offer a range of up to 400 metres to ensure flexible and reliable detection.

Our security systems are operational and ready for use within an hour. In addition to the necessary logistics, we can secure your construction site with BauWatch within 48 hours of your order, depending on the monitoring location.

Even when using "BauWatch construction site monitoring", you must keep your insurance in place to cover any damage (for example, outside the monitoring times). However, you can often save money on your premium and deductible after consulting your insurer.

This is clarified individually with you as the customer in advance. Our staff in the security centre will pass on the alarm in an emergency - we will be happy to advise you in advance as to who exactly, be it the police or a security service.

The employees on duty at our security centre are kept busy around the clock by "BauWatch". Whether the police or a security service should be notified from here in the event of an emergency is decided by the customer when the order is placed.

We offer three different surveillance systems as well as various additional accessories: Our standard surveillance towers are power-connected video towers. For self-sufficient use, there is the solar tower with integrated fuel cell and for indoor use, we recommend our battery-powered Flex system.

With our wired "BauWatch Standard" construction site monitoring system, an integrated rechargeable battery guarantees reliable operation for a further 48 hours if the power supply is interrupted.
We can also offer you the autonomous "BauWatch Solar" system, which offers permanent security without a power connection thanks to its environmentally friendly power supply, a combination of solar energy, battery and generator (Hybrid PowerStation).

Thanks to our automated daily remote maintenance and the integrated service platform, we are able to recognise and rectify malfunctions or failures immediately (within 24 hours). We therefore offer the highest possible system uptime.

The BauWatch monitoring systems can be programmed for any defined area, usually fenced or enclosed. This means that any area that can be clearly delimited by fences or walls, for example, can be monitored. We can monitor construction sites, storage areas, vacant buildings, infrastructure construction projects, harbour areas, agricultural areas, industrial plants, logistics and recycling areas as well as any form of indoor space.

No. The labour costs, usually plus high night surcharges, considerably exceed the costs of our security solutions. In addition, human monitoring systems are more prone to failure and errors than ours. Where human labour is no longer sufficient, our reliable, intelligent, technical solutions can help.

No, BauWatch relies on personal support for the various mobile video surveillance systems from its own employees in the permanently manned control centre. Behind each system are BauWatch employees who intervene immediately in the event of an alarm, check the process live on the screen and intervene directly via an integrated loudspeaker.

The video surveillance systems are regularly and automatically checked for functionality and, if necessary, serviced immediately by a BauWatch service technician. Thanks to our constantly growing network, we are there for our customers nationwide with our own technicians. However, we can easily rectify many faults via remote maintenance using our specially developed maintenance platform. And most of our systems are prepared for events such as power failures thanks to an integrated emergency battery that guarantees uninterrupted operation for 48 hours. Longer downtimes are therefore unheard of with BauWatch.

Although our most frequently used camera tower, BauWatch GreenLight, is equipped with gentle green LED spotlights as standard, it can also be much more discreet if required. All systems can also be fitted with infrared spotlights as an option. BauWatch also offers the BauWatch Thermal system as a further alternative. It works with state-of-the-art thermal imaging cameras and does not require any additional floodlights.

Our BauWatch GreenLight video surveillance tower is equipped with green LED spotlights, as green light has been proven to be more tolerable for animals and humans than irritating white light. Over time, another positive effect has also become apparent: Because the green light on the construction site is now usually immediately associated with BauWatch, gangs of thieves often give the secured areas a wide berth. Customers benefit from this preventive protection in two ways, because theft and the associated damage to doors, fences, buildings or machines do not occur in the first place.

BauWatch monitors sites, outdoor areas and buildings of all kinds for you, because the principle behind our security always works in the same way: our various camera systems detect every vehicle and every person who wants to gain access within time periods defined together with our customers - regardless of the type of site. Thanks to the connection with our continuously manned control centre, we personally intervene immediately in the event of an alarm and warn the persons recognised on the screen via the installed loudspeakers. If necessary, we will call the police or your designated security service. In this way, we secure construction sites as well as vacant sites, energy plants, gravel pits, car parks, recycling centres or storage areas against unauthorised access.

Depending on the area of application and infrastructure, we offer the right surveillance system for your project. We have the BauWatch Flex camera system in our programme especially for monitoring indoor areas. Up to 6 cameras per set work in parallel and detect any conspicuous movement in the surveillance area. The compact cameras with integrated motion detectors are battery-operated, can be mounted inconspicuously on a wide variety of surfaces and are connected to our control centre, which is manned without interruption during the day and at night. This allows us to intervene immediately as soon as someone gains unauthorised access.

All BauWatch camera systems are connected to our in-house, permanently manned control centre at the company headquarters in Ratingen. For alarm monitoring, we rely exclusively on our experienced and well-trained specialist staff: at night, at weekends and also on public holidays. In this way, we ensure that your property is always guarded by someone who is as familiar with the technology as they are with the procedures in the event of an alarm. At BauWatch, the entire process chain is in one hand, so that the coordination effort for our customers is reduced to an absolute minimum.

False alarms are almost unheard of at BauWatch. There are two reasons for this: Firstly, the intelligent control and analysis software in our surveillance systems has been continuously developed over the years: No person or vehicle enters the detection area unnoticed, but at the same time not every field mouse or brief fluctuation in the power supply triggers an alarm straight away. Secondly, our experienced staff in the control centre can check who or what has triggered an alarm live on the screen at any time. That's why a loose flutter tape or a stray dog doesn't immediately trigger a police call-out. If this is necessary, we will contact you and point out any loose components.

Depending on your insurance policy, monitoring of the construction site or other properties may be the basis for discounted liability cover. It is best to find out about the respective benefits and conditions directly from your insurance provider.

If theft occurs on the construction site, containers are broken into or the property itself is damaged (due to vandalism or theft), the builder is liable until final acceptance. An effective monitoring solution that has a preventative effect and minimises cost-intensive damage from the outset is therefore always recommended.

In the event of a justified alarm, we intervene immediately in person via the loudspeakers integrated into our surveillance systems on site and call the police or the security service designated by the customer. We also hand over recordings of criminal offences to the police for prosecution purposes. The videos are kept for the law enforcement authorities for a maximum of 21 days before they are permanently deleted due to data protection regulations.

Although BauWatch has its origins in construction site surveillance, where it became well known, we now secure numerous other objects and types of terrain. Typical areas of application are sand and gravel pits, sensitive energy plants and vacant properties of all types and sizes. We also know our way around lost places - and the best thing is: lost placers know us. Sites with a sign indicating that they have been secured by BauWatch are avoided by hobby adventurers. This is because they are also liable to prosecution if they enter the site without authorisation and must expect appropriate penalties if the police are called.

No, our exclusively in-house security staff do not monitor live on the monitor. The monitoring works via software-supported detection of movements in precisely defined periods of time. Only when the camera systems detect movement and send an alarm signal to the permanently manned BauWatch control centre can our employees access the camera control system. They then check the actual danger situation on site and, if necessary, instruct the intervention forces at the scene. These are usually the police or a security service specified by the customer.

Our mobile video surveillance systems such as the BauWatch GreenLight or the BauWatch Thermal are clearly visible from a distance thanks to their height of 6 metres and conspicuous warning signs on all four sides of the square base (1 m x 1 m). And that's a good thing, because this way they are not only noticed by employees in the secured area - the particular strength of BauWatch is the high preventive effect of our monitoring solutions. Potential thieves and burglars who see our camera towers (and often recognise our logo) generally abandon their plans. In addition, our camera systems are of course labelled in accordance with current data protection regulations and provided with appropriate iconographic representations.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), signs at the boundaries of the construction site indicate that the site is being monitored, as well as the responsible organisation. In addition, we provide our customers with all the necessary signs to fulfil the required transparency and information obligations. These signs are usually clearly visible at the entrance to the video surveillance centre. They contain all the necessary information that interested parties need in order to contact the person responsible and obtain information about the background and procedure of the video surveillance.
