Construction site crime
Construction site crime continues to present a major challenge for the industry. According to the BauWatch UK Construction Crime Report 2025, 67% of construction professionals reported a rise in crime affecting their projects over the past year. The report also found that 31% of sites experienced delays as a direct result of theft, vandalism or intrusion, with disruption often caused by stolen materials or damaged infrastructure.
BauWatch systems are designed to stop incidents while they are happening. When suspicious activity is detected, our monitoring centre can intervene immediately using live audio challenges, warning intruders that the site is under surveillance and instructing them to leave. If required, operators can contact the police or dispatch security patrol teams straight away, helping prevent theft, vandalism or unauthorised access before it escalates.
Our temporary CCTV record activity continuously, creating a clear visual record of events across the site. This is particularly valuable on construction projects where valuable plant, copper cabling, fuel and power tools are often targeted.
